"If you love someone, let them go." Aw how romantic. How sweet. What a tender gesture. Ok I am calling a bluff here because to me that is the most irrational, wrong and confusing statement ever known to anyone ever. Love is what we as humans chase after, what we desire. And anyone can pull out a can of "I don't need no man" but let's be serious, we are all happier when we are in the arms of someone we love and we have been chasing it since the dawn of time. Literature from ages ago is centered around love, music encircles love- "love" this enchanting emotion or idea that for some reason suckers in everyone to crave it so badly. If love is all it is made up to be- sweaty palms, butterflies whipping their wings in your stomach and missing someone 25/8- if you had it then why would you let that go. Why would you let the emotion that literally overpowers every other emotion, the emotion that the earth spins around, the emotion that causes humans to feel feelings they didn't think were possible, why would you let that emotion out of your grasp. 

Like yeah, it was cute I guess in "The Longest Ride" when Ira let Ruth go because he loved her so much and wanted her to be happy more than anything, but being apart killed them both. But I do not think anyone would argue that the part when Luke comes back for Sophia was the best part of the WHOLE DARN MOVIE. And no normal girl can deny that every part of her was screaming and crying with happiness and jealousy when they saw him walk in- the reunion is always better than the parting. Being together is always better than being apart, simple as that.

Maybe I haven't experienced the right kind of love to love someone so purely that all I want is their happiness, but if you love someone so deep part of that love is them loving you back- so why would you let that go. Maybe that's selfish of me. Oops. Maybe I am saying this because today is a hard day and I am hurting extra lots. And maybe love isn't real. Maybe love is just an extreme crush that we as humans elaborate with fantasies we create.

Fun Facts Friday

There are so many cool and fun facts about the world we live in, and I just found some out today, or some were reassured to me today.

Fun fact #1: Some people know how to be a better friend than others.

Fun fact #2: Sometimes making a commitment will mean more to you, than to the person on the other side of that commitment.

Fun fact #3: Waka Flaka is too young to run for president.

Fun fact #4: People will talk crap about you behind your back but run away from you in person, and as much as you want to chase after them yelling "come at me bitchezzz" you have to rise up to be the bigger person to save yourself some future humiliation.

Fun fact #5: Going out of your way for someone is always worth it, even if they don't acknowledge it or thank you- it's ALWAYS worth it.

Fun fact #6: People will disappoint you but it's okay because tomorrow is a new day and you will learn to not let others guide your happiness.

Fun fact #7: Boys are stupid and have cooties.

Fun fact #8: Sometimes investing your time in someone isn't enough and you have to be okay with that, because there's the hope that one day it will be more than enough for someone.

Fun fact #9: Best friends are extremely underrated and are dearly needed and held close to my heart because I am certain they make every sucky situation 10000% less sucky.

Tender Mercies

Sometimes tender mercies from the Lord come in mysterious ways, and sometimes that tender mercy is wrapped up in something that appears as a trial. Sometimes tender mercies are having a falling out with someone, or dropping your keys so you are 10 seconds behind that stoplight so you don't run it and get hit by the oncoming car that isn't paying attention, or a breakup, or forgetting your lunch and even making a fool of yourself infront of someone because that someone ends up becoming an important part of your life. I am grateful for tender mercies, even the ones that are wrapped up in a trial! Count your tender mercies, you will be amazed.

Credit Cards

Credit cards are every shopaholics dream. I mean, it's like an all access pass to every pair of Paige jeans and Free People tops with those cute TopShop shoes to kiss your outfit off with a finished kiss all wrapped up in a little 2x3 in silver card with your name embossed on the front. And then, to top it all off, you get these little rewards. You see the rewards number growing with every purchase you make with your little all access pass and you're like "freak yeah I just got $3.58 richer for maxing this little baby out and making my minimum payment 4 days late!"

I am a firm believer in cute boys smiles and 11:11 wishes and good luck Halloween kisses and lots of other things, but if I could stress my belief in one thing (aside from the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) it would most definitely be the power of retail therapy my friends. And I would like to thank my handy dandy credit card-and I must give some credit to Diet Coke too- for numbing some of the pain experienced by stupid boys and gossiping girls and too much homework.

Today Sucks

Today sucks so I bought a swimsuit. Not because I need one or because it was on sale or because a sales person was pressuring me, but because sometimes people can be hurtful and words can cause heart ache like a sharp stab. But for some reason, a new cute swimsuit in a shiny Nordstrom bag dulls the pain a bit right? ;-) never underestimate the power of retail therapy.

Oops

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away and a land not so dreamy and a land which is called high school, a devilish little boy decided to tell me my tweets are "dumb and annoying." His extensive 12 year old vocabulary really hurt me in the heart, kind of like when I got made fun of in the 8th grade for wearing hot pink tights with little glittery hearts on them. This aching pain to my damaged heart conjured up a multitude of feelings- laughter, delight and, unfortunately, a bit of re-evaluation. See, my thought process is that the thoughts which float in and out of my head based on experiences I encounter and images I see are thoughts that I find completely and entirely hilarious. I think I'm funny- oops. So, naturally, I want to share all of these witty and sometimes a wee bit bitter thoughts with all 399 of my loyal Twitter followers. (398 after that little devilish child unfollowed me, but who's counting) when I realized, yes, maybe this devil child with the vocabulary and maturity level of a young boy starting to break into puberty has a small point I realized I needed a new channel to get my quick thoughts of wisdom and wit into the world, and unless my journal is being broadcast onto every one's nightly news channel, a blog might perhaps be the most efficient way to quench my thirst for spilling the sharp thoughts that pop like popcorn inside the walls of this skull containing my thoughts.
